Leeam O Rooney's Burial

from 'Beside the fire': a collection of Irish Gaelic folk stories

archive.org

Leeam O Rooney’s Burial is a traditional Irish tale set in Claregalway. It was translated into English by Douglas Hyde in his collection of short Irish stories in ‘Beside the Fire’ in 1890.  As many tales do is has a moral to it: it is plain bad to come back from the dead. Enjoy!
